The Namibian entrepreneur Martin Nankela of Business Summit Namibia will be bringing one of South Africa’s top financial advisers, Nicolette Mashile, to Namibia for a business summit on 13 May.
Mashile is a renowned broadcaster, the author of ‘What’s your move’, as well as the founder of Financial Fitness Bunnies, an educational financial consumer entity that provides financial advice to individuals and small and medium enterprises (SMEs).
“Namibians should benefit a lot from her coming here, as this will create a platform for networking and learning,” Nankela says.
He says this year’s business summit will focus on mentoring young professionals on personal finances in a quest to foster platforms for information sharing and networking.
“I have been following Mashile’s work and she inspires me,” he says.
Nankela says apart from Mashile, a panel of experts has been lined up to make presentations at the annual event.
“Our line-up of speakers includes Dino Ballotti, the executive director at the Namibia Investment Promotion Development Board, Robert Eiman, the head of SME banking at the Development Bank of Namibia, Paul Egelser of the Development Bank of Namibia and Susan Nel, an accredited transformational leadership coach.”
Nankela says this year entrepreneurs with innovative ideas will get the chance to pitch them, and to possibly have them financed.
“These ideas should focus on solving social issues, creating employment and providing relevance to economic productivity.
Entrepreneurs who get their business funded will also be mentored to enhance the success of their business venture finances,” he says.
Nankela says an exhibition will take place outside the venue for mostly small businesses to showcase their products and services to people attending the event.
“These include bakeries, business consultants, financial advisers, interior designers, cosmetics specialists, as well as electronics and solar technicians,” he says.
