Whats on in Namibia for the weekend.

Roadhouse Blues, a Namibian blues band, will perform at The Loft today from 18h00. Expect blues-rock styles and contemporary British blues-rock. Tickets are available at the door.

Ray and Titus will host ‘Izikhali’ at the Boiler Room today. The event starts from 21h00 and entrance is free.

‘Metaphor’, an exhibition by Alfeus Mvula, is on display at the National Art Gallery of Namibia. The gallery is open Mondays to Fridays from 08h00 to 17h00 and the exhibition will close on 22 June.

Michael Mansfield will be showcasing ‘Mythtakes and Other Attempts’ at The Project Room from today at 18h00. The exhibition will run until 1 June. The Project Room is situated at 32 Jenner Street in Windhoek.

Swakopmund’s Woermannhaus Gallery will be hosting the ‘Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed, Something Blue’ exhibition until 31 May. The exhibition features reused objects and recreated works of art. The gallery is open Monday to Friday from 10h00 to 12h00 and 15h00 to 17h00 and on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays from 10h00 to 12h00.

A group exhibition titled ‘Pamwe’ has opened at Die Muschel at Swakopmund and will run until Sunday, 19 May.

The ‘Uptown Reggae Invasion’ is back! DJ Crucial Selekta will be hitting the decks on Saturday from 20h00. Entrance is free.

The Standard Bank Top Eight Cup will take place at the Sam Nujoma Stadium in Windhoek this Saturday. Tigers and African Stars will be battling it out on the soccer field from 17h00. Tickets are available at webtickets.com.na.

The Goethe-Institut Namibia is hosting Nikhita Winkler’s ‘Improvisation Dance Class’ featuring live musicians on Saturday from 11h00 to 13h00. The event will also be hosted on Wednesday, 22 May, from 17h30 to 19h00. Tickets are available at the door.

The Youth Power Group will be hosting a fun day at Zoo Park’s Amphitheatre in Windhoek for the youth on Sunday, 19 May. The event includes performances and a talk for the youth on their future. The event starts at 12h30. For more information, call 0811 413 322.

‘Metal Conquest’, a metal concert, will take place at Warehouse Theatre on Friday, 24 May. Expect local acts such as Night Fades, Wolfhunt, Segregated Existence, Morrigan and Accidental Hero with South Africa’s Woltemade on the line-up as well. Doors open from 19h00 and early bird tickets are available at webtickets.com.na.
