People are getting so creative, hey! Wow. Even I am surprised. I mean, companies are getting onto the bandwagon of curving people on social media, so you know it’s real.
Now if you don’t know what curving means, here’s a brief explanation for you: It’s like someone offering you their love, but your response is ‘oh OK, that’s nice’. Ouch. But what is the science behind it? Why do we keep saying no? Because the way women have been approached in the past is messed up and now we are ‘tayad’.
Construction workers are still wolf-whistling from two stories up. Random guys are still touching women inappropriately or making unwanted comments. I mean, a woman can’t even wear her shorts any more because someone somewhere feels the need to say something about it.
And let’s not even get into wearing a bikini. That would be totally ‘inappropriate’, so says the random meneer, even if she’s wearing one at a public swimming pool.
Eish, it’s really tough for us out here, best believe. But the sad thing is that a woman can’t even reject a guy any more without fearing for her life. Have you seen the news? A woman is stabbed X times because she did not feel that she had to agree to a man’s advances. It’s so deep, guys, it really is.
Here’s a scene that we see every now and then: A woman walks into a bar somewhere, and all eyes are on her because she looks good. Aside from the guy appreciating her looks among her friends, there’s going to be that one who will approach her and ‘compliment’ her in the strangest way. “Your booty is so big, babe, I could eat you up.”
Hearing this from a complete stranger would irk you, wouldn’t it? She ignores him and then he continues by suddenly having the need to ask for her number. “081? I know what you’re going to say. You have a boyfriend. But he doesn’t have to know.”
Now shouldn’t that be a warning sign? Our lady friend sees that and ignores him again, some would probably go ‘ugh’, and walk away. And then what happens? She’s insulted heavily, all the way from her children to her descendants. And all she did? Nothing. She did absolutely nothing! But someone feels that she’s ugly now when minutes ago they were drooling over her. Isn’t that full of nonsense, guys?
A girl can’t even go the club any more without some guy grinding on her when ‘Work’ comes on. There are some people who just can’t control themselves, and that’s not fair. Maybe it’s the alcohol’s fault, some would argue. But is it really? Doesn’t alcohol just enhance the personality that you tend to keep hidden? If you’re always insulting women and pushing them to the ground when they accidentally step on your shoe, then brother man, you should check yourself. Real quick.
I’ve said this a number of times, but I’m going to say it again. Learn how to deal with rejection! It’s a terrible feeling, we know, because at some point we all got rejected doing something. But that doesn’t mean you’re a useless human being or something! Just move on with your life. Accept that you couldn’t achieve her (which you don’t necessarily have to tell your friends) and move on. I mean, where are those moments when you can have a good conversation with a guy and not expect him to ask for your number at the end of the night?
Ja neh, this life.
