Sharing The Knowledge

TOGETHER we stand, Divided we fall.

Allow me space in your newspaper to express my opinion and to exercise my right to freedom of speech. For almost 16 years since Independence, Namibia at large is enjoying the fruits of it.But not everyone does so.How are we going to achieve Vision 2030 if the people who are supposed to contribute towards this vision are not well equipped with the necessary information and skills? In knowledge management we say “knowledge sharing” means sharing to inform, educate and increase other people’s thinking capacities as well as to change their behaviours and practices that make it difficult for them to develop.I’m saying this with regard to some situations that you find in some other parts of this country.Regions like Caprivi are still far behind in terms of development.School children in that region have no access to Internet, even those in town.Youth resource centres that I think are a necessity to provide information materials do not exist in that region. So how do you expect these children to know the current status of the nation if they have no access? Knowledge should be shared widely and the more it is shared, the more valuable it becomes. It seems again to me that this is not practiced in that region.I’m saying so because you still find people there who don’t know the Ministers of this country. This is not because these people are stupid. It is because these people are not well informed and knowledge is not shared/transferred to these people. They can only be informed if the necessary facilities to provide such information are put in place. The people responsible for such things must wake up and do the job; it’s high time now. There must be access to information facilities. These are the things that should be put in place to equip the people so that they will be able to make use of the knowledge they get and develop themselves and the nation at large. How is it going to be possible to achieve our vision if many are left behind? We must start together, go together and arrive together.Master Penna WindhoekFor almost 16 years since Independence, Namibia at large is enjoying the fruits of it.But not everyone does so.How are we going to achieve Vision 2030 if the people who are supposed to contribute towards this vision are not well equipped with the necessary information and skills?
