Rundu TikTok couple’s fight ends in fatal stabbing

A night at a local mini market at Rundu’s Ndama area on Saturday ended in the death of a man after allegedly being stabbed by his colleague and alleged romantic partner.

Kavango East police head of crime investigations deputy commissioner Moses Simaho yesterday said the suspect, Antonio Ngeve (29), allegedly stabbed Paulu Katombera (23) after he slapped her.

She reportedly stabbed him with a broken beer bottle in the neck at Ndama, where the couple is suspected to have been living and working together at a Chinese shop, a close source to Katombera says.

The couple, known for their TikTok videos on social media, have been in a romantic relationship for a while, the source claims.

Simaho yesterday said Katombera died while being transported to Rundu State Hospital.

“The reason for provoking and slapping the suspect is unknown,” he said.

Ngeve was arrested following the incident and appeared in the Rundu Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday.

She was denied bail and is remanded in custody until 1 December, while police investigations continue.

The two were known for their TikTok videos, although the police have not publicly confirmed the nature of their relationship or what triggered the confrontation.

Rundu-based activist Frans Moyo says he knows Katombera from soccer matches, and that he played for soccer academy The Legends during his primary school years.

Users on TikTok say he was a good friend and loved playing soccer.
