SEVERAL roads in the Karas and Hardap regions have become impassable because of the rain.
Roads Authority spokesman Audrin Mathe yesterday said the DR 212 road between Noordoewer and Rosh Pinah and the DR 3608 road in the Keetmanshoop district are closed because of wash-aways and flooding rivers. The MR 28 (C12) road between Seeheim and Holoog and the DR 609 and DR 619 roads are temporarily closed because of swollen rivers.Mathe warned motorist to drive cautiously on the DR 414 and DR 430 roads in the Bethanie district.Motorists have also been urged to drive with care on roads MR 27 (C12) and MR 25 (C11) since these roads are muddy and slippery.In the Hardap Region, the DR 1089 road in the Mariental district is closed for traffic because of the flooding Fish River. The MR 31 (C14) road between Maltahöhe and Solitaire, the DR 854 between C14 and C19 in the Namib-Naukluft park and DR 826 (27) between Solitaire and Helmeringhausen have been damaged.Road workers are doing their best to repair the damage, Mathe said.luqman@namibian.com.na
