Rest in peace, Mr Ibu

Following the announcement of the death of veteran Nigerian actor and comedian John Okafor, popularly known as Mr Ibu, over the weekend, Namibians who grew up to his comedy took to social media to express their condolences.

Aiii no guys, this man is the reason most of us loved Nigerian movies like that. Fly high Mr Ibu, RIP. Namibia sympathises with y’all.

Rest in power to a true African comedy LEGEND, Mr Ibu. For many of us, your films were a window into the lives of our people in west Africa. You undoubtedly laid the foundation for hella Gen Z African Tik Tok comedians, salute to a real one.

Thanks for making us laugh, Mr Ibu. Rest well, sir.
