The Boost Up Comedy Night was sponsored by Puma and with it, it brought the official announcement of the comeback of Free Your Mind. The night itself was sold out and the theatre was overflowing with people coming to see Namibian comedic talent.
The talent itself did not disappoint as the line-up featured some of the country”;s best comedic prodigies, including Ileka, Slick the Dick, Big Mich, Helmut and Zita as master of ceremony with many antics up her sleeve as well.
The event was sponsored by Puma as an initiative to “boost the existing energy of the youth and to reiterate the need for all Namibians to find their inner light, through laughter, entertainment and social connection because with collaboration, the inevitable is to initiate, create and care,” explained the Puma team.
They further explained the collaboration spoke to the need for young people to reignite and re-energise their will and talent, by creating a platform for both performers and entertainers through the revival of the comedy series, which was last performed live more than three years ago.
The collaboration between Puma and Free Your Mind is a permanent association between the two that is striving to uplift through comedy.
“Our partnership with Puma and the Boost Up Comedy event was the beginning of a long-term relationship, but this is something that we are identifying and looking into,” said Chicken, one of the executives for Free Your Mind.
With Free Your Mind not able to have live shows and realising that times are changing, the event diverted to a digital platform in the form of a podcast, but its team is equally glad to have the live audience experience back and look forward to doing more shows now that they have a good partnership with Puma.
