President gets N$40m to strengthen security

The government has allocated N$40 million to strengthen security measures under the Office of the President in the 2026/27 financial year, according to finance minister Ericah Shafudah.

The allocation forms part of N$180 million budgeted under the president’s office

Shafudah was speaking during the tabling of the mid-year budget review statement presented on Thursday.

Shafudah said the funding is intended “to strengthen security measures”.

The remaining N$140 million is for the construction of basic sports facilities across the country, under the coordination and supervision of regional governors.

The transfer places the implementation of the sports infrastructure programme under the presidential vote, with regional governors responsible for coordination and supervision.
