Pohamba visits Nujoma residence

Forrmer president Hifikepunye Pohamba on Friday visited the home of late founding president Sam Nujoma in Windhoek to pay his respects. Nujoma died last weekend at the age of 95.

Accompanied by his wife Penehupifo, Pohamba also signed the book of condolences.

In an interview this week from his homestead at Okanghudi village, the former president said he was informed two weeks ago that Nujoma was not doing well and rushed to Windhoek upon hearing this.

“I found him seriously ill and when the news broke, it was not shocking because we knew his condition was terrible and anything could happen. Obviously, we looked at the wide spectrum, everybody will die, everybody is going to die. Sam Nujoma has not been an exception,” he said.

He called on the nation to look at what Nujoma achieved from his childhood to the time when he left office, and add to what he has done.
