THE future of Namibian international footballer, Mohammed Ouseb, hangs in the balance as his name does not feature on the transfer deals being negotiated by South African club, Mamelodi Sundowns, which had earlier expressed interest in signing him on.
Ouseb, who is currently in Tsumeb, has so far not heard a word from his agent Steve Bailey concerning negotiations with Sundowns. Ouseb told The Namibian Sport that he does not want to talk about his football career at this stage, referring the reporter to his agent. When contacted yesterday from his base in London, England, Bailey said he could not comment on developments around Ouseb’s future as he was busy in an important meeting. He said The Namibian Sport should speak to Pieter du Toit at Soccer Laduma in South Africa.Du Toit could not be reached for comment at Soccer Laduma yesterday.Meanwhile, Sundowns coach Paul Dolezar said although the President of Sundowns, Patrice Motsepe unveiled the names of the new signings at the club this week, more signings were expected soon.Speaking from Pretoria, Dolezar said he was interested in Ouseb, but did not know how far the negotiations with the club (Sundowns), and the agent (Bailey) had gone in getting him to the Chloorkop-based side.Dolezar said Motsepe will reveal the names of more players in the near future, but he (Dolezar), was keen to have Ouseb be included in the group.”As I said before, Ouseb is a very good player and I asked the management to get hold of him as I want him to be part of my plans,” said Dolezar. Also this week, Sundowns invited two Zimbabwean midfielders, Esrom Nyandoro and Vusa Nyoni (from Amazulu of Bulawayo), for trials at the club.Ouseb, who left Norwegian-based side Lyn Oslo on mutual grounds earlier this year, recently played for his former club, Chief Santos in a friendly international match against Angola’s Premeiro de Agosto in Oshakati.Ted Dumitru, coach of Kaizer Chiefs, another SA club to which Ouseb has been linked, said he did not have the former Namibian captain in his footballing frame.Ouseb has 65 caps for Namibia’s national side.Ouseb told The Namibian Sport that he does not want to talk about his football career at this stage, referring the reporter to his agent. Also this week, Sundowns invited two Zimbabwean midfielders, Esrom Nyandoro and Vusa Nyoni (from Amazulu of Bulawayo), for trials at the club.Ouseb, who left Norwegian-based side Lyn Oslo on mutual grounds earlier this year, recently played for his former club, Chief Santos in a friendly international match against Angola’s Premeiro de Agosto in Oshakati.Ted Dumitru, coach of Kaizer Chiefs, another SA club to which Ouseb has been linked, said he did not have the former Namibian captain in his footballing frame.Ouseb has 65 caps for Namibia’s national side.
