Otjozondjupa vocational trainee takes own life

A Windhoek Vocational Training Centre trainee took his life at a village near Okamatapati in the Otjozondjupa region on Monday.

The man has been identified as Zenotjiuonga Tjatjitua (19) from Otjijere village.

Police head of community affairs in the region senior inspector Maureen Mbeha on Tuesday said an inquest docket was opened at the Okamatapati Police Station in connection with the incident.

“The incident from Otjijere village was reported to us at about 19h30 on Monday,” she said.

Tjatjitua, who stays in Windhoek, was visiting his uncle.

Mbeha said he had allegedly not shown any signs of distress.

Tjatjitua completed his daily chores as usual on Monday afternoon.

Around 17h00, he left the house and did not return.

His concerned uncle went looking for him annd discovered his body in the bushes.

No suicide note was found, and no foul play is suspected.

Police investigations continue.
