A man who allegedly stabbed his son (5) to death at Oshifo village in the Ruacana constituency last Wednesday was arrested at Oshikuku on Sunday.
The suspect (24) had been on the run after the incident, during which he allegedly stabbed the child with an unknown object while they were home alone.
The boy died from the injuries at the scene, Omusati police regional commander Ismael Basson says.
According to him, the incident occurred between 13h30 and 17h26.
Basson says the motive for the killing remains unknown and investigations are continuing.
The suspect is expected to appear in the Outapi Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday.
