The Ohangwena Regional Governor’s Office has announced that entrepreneurs, investors and businesses will be invited to submit project proposals.
The announcement was made by Ohangwena governor Kadiva Hamutumwa during a breakfast engagement held at Eenhana on Tuesday, where the Ohangwena Regional Investment Map and Action Plan 2025–2030 was presented.
“The future of Ohangwena’s economy depends on our collective commitment to investing in our own region,” Humutumwa said.
She said the investment map and action plan identifies opportunities across sectors such as agriculture, agro-processing, manufacturing, the creative economy, health, tourism and hospitality, while also supporting investment in enabling sectors including water, energy, logistics and housing.
“Our objective is to ensure that local businesses are not merely observers of development but active investors, innovators and beneficiaries of the opportunities that exist within our region,” she said.
The governor said the expression of interest process will open from 11 August to 23 September, allowing entrepreneurs and investors to submit commercially viable projects aligned with the region’s identified priority sectors.
Monasa Advisory & Associates managing director Jason Kasuto says the firm had been appointed as transaction and commercial adviser in developing the regional investment framework.
“As implementation progresses, Monasa will continue to support the Office of the Governor and the regional investment committee with project preparation, commercial structuring and investment facilitation to ensure that priority projects become investment-ready and bankable,” Kasuto says.
He adds that Monasa will serve as co-lead arranger alongside the Development Bank of Namibia to make funding available from both public and private sector investors.
The governor’s office says the investment plan supports the objectives of Vision 2030 and the Sixth National Development Plan.
