Ohangwena governor Kadiva Hamutumwa has called for greater support for small businesses and renewed efforts to revive economic activity in the region.
Speaking at the 14th regional business engagement at Eenhana on Friday, Hamutumwa said limited cash flow, low local participation in medium-sized enterprises and the decline of commercial activity at Oshikango continue to hinder growth.
She urged stakeholders to improve service delivery, attract investment and strengthen community-driven business development.
The governor highlighted initiatives such as the Regional Investment Committee, the Investment Map and the Ohangwena Regional Profile, all aimed at identifying investment opportunities and boosting trade.
Hamutumwa also encouraged entrepreneurs to prepare for opportunities under the African Continental Free Trade Area, noting Ohangwena’s strategic position as a key gateway for cross-border commerce.
