WINDHOEK, 209 4414: This is the number to call with information that could help the Police with their investigation of the discovery of dismembered female human remains that were found next to the main road between Windhoek and Okahandja a week and a half ago.

Anyone wishing to provide information in connection with the discovery of the body parts in a rubbish bin at a lay-by next to the B1 road some 42 kilometres north of Windhoek on June 17 can provide that information to the Police at the phone number (061) 209 4414, the Police announced this week. Information provided will be treated “with the utmost confidentiality it deserves,” according to the Police’s Public Relations and Liaison Division.”Therefore, there is no need for fear of reprisal from the suspect.”The Police last week started offering a N$60 000 reward for information that would lead to the arrest of the person who is thought to have killed the woman whose cut-up torso was found in two pieces in a rubbish bin next to the Okahandja-Windhoek road. The torso was found without arms, legs and a head.On Wednesday last week, another discovery of human remains next to the B1 road was made when two thighs were found in a rubbish bin at a lay-by next to the main road between Windhoek and Rehoboth.Although it is suspected that the thighs and pieces of torso may belong to the same person, the Police have not been able to confirm that. The Police have indicated that the torso is believed to have belonged to a woman who was in her twenties, weighed around 52 kilograms, was about 1,7 metres tall, and who was light brown in colour. The legs were found at a spot about 14,5 km south of the place where the head of a murdered Windhoek resident, Juanita Mabula, had been found on October 24 2005.Mabula’s decapitated body was found lying naked next to the Western Bypass road on the southern outskirts of Windhoek on September 25 2005.A reward of N$20 000 also remains on offer for information that could lead to the arrest of the person(s) responsible for killing Mabula and another Windhoek resident, Melanie Janse, whose body was similarly found lying naked next to the Western Bypass near the Van Eck Power Station on August 20 2005.Information provided will be treated “with the utmost confidentiality it deserves,” according to the Police’s Public Relations and Liaison Division.”Therefore, there is no need for fear of reprisal from the suspect.”The Police last week started offering a N$60 000 reward for information that would lead to the arrest of the person who is thought to have killed the woman whose cut-up torso was found in two pieces in a rubbish bin next to the Okahandja-Windhoek road. The legs were found at a spot about 14,5 km south of the place where the head of a murdered Windhoek resident, Juanita Mabula, had been found on October 24 2005.Mabula’s decapitated body was found lying naked next to the Western Bypass road on the southern outskirts of Windhoek on September 25 2005.A reward of N$20 000 also remains on offer for information that could lead to the arrest of the person(s) responsible for killing Mabula and another Windhoek resident, Melanie Janse, whose body was similarly found lying naked next to the Western Bypass near the Van Eck Power Station on August 20 2005.
