National Youth Services with the Youth

THE National Youth Service (NYS) has signed a memorandum of agreement with Innovative Green Hands CC for the use of the NYS garden in Henties Bay for three years.

Deputy minister of sport, youth, and national service Emma Kantema-Goamas facilitated the agreement.

Innovative Green Hands is a group of five (four females and one male) young graduates in the fields of agriculture, microbiology, and environmental science.

The youth received eight months’ training in precision return agriculture and horticultural crops and mushrooms (button and oyster) production for a duration of 8 months.

Commissioner of National Youth Service Felix Musukubili said the institution aims to deliver relevant national youth services and offer recognised skills training and personal development to the youth through attaining the requisite institutional capacity.

NYS aims to support youth groups that are passionate about certain activities for which they receive skills training. Part of such support is availing NYS facilities and assets for use by committed and patriotic youth groups that aim to contribute to the socio-economic development of Namibia.
