Namibian healthcare student shines in Mauritius

Maxine ‘Magano’ Nauyala (22) from Tsumeb, a final-year healthcare student at Polytechnic Mauritius, is making strides in both her clinical studies and on the international modelling stage.

She says she developed a passion for fashion while studying at Edugate Academy at Otjiwarongo.

Raised by her mother, who was a teacher, Nauyala says she grew up admiring the elegance, creativity, and confidence modelling represents and dreaming of walking international runways.

Despite pursuing a demanding career in healthcare, she says she never lost sight of that dream.

Today, while completing her clinical training and preparing to graduate, Nauyala has successfully built a promising modelling career on the global stage.

Her dedication and ability to balance her studies with creativity caught the attention of an international modelling agency in Mauritius.

Nauyala now features as one of the island’s premier emerging international faces.

“I want to showcase the fact that one can chase one’s academics and passion at the same time. As long as you put your mind to it, you’re unstoppable,” she says in a statement.

Nauyala is currently competing in the Mauritius Model of the Month competition.

The grand prize winner will be determined entirely by public voting, and she is appealing to fellow Namibians, friends, and supporters around the world to help her secure this milestone.
