A Namibian delegation led by deputy minister of international relations and cooperation, Jennely Matundu, attended the inauguration ceremony of Venezuelan president-elect Nicolás Maduro in Caracas on Friday.
President Nangolo Mbumba delegated Matundu to represent Namibia at the event, where Maduro officially assumed his third term in office for the period from 2025 to 2031.
In a congratulatory message, Mbumba highlighted the trust and confidence the Venezuelan people have demonstrated in Maduro by extending his mandate.
“The will of the Venezuelan people to extend president Maduro’s mandate for a third term is a clear demonstration of their trust and confidence in his leadership. We continue to value the solid relationship and friendship we share with the government and great people of Venezuela,” Mbumba said.
He expressed Namibia’s commitment to enhancing bilateral ties, stating, “I look forward to continuing our work together to strengthen and broaden cooperation for the benefit of our people.”
According to the Venezuelan embassy in Namibia, the ceremony was attended by various heads of state, government officials, and dignitaries from around the world.
