Namibia and the Republic of Congo have signed two memoranda of understanding (MoUs) aimed at strengthening cooperation in health, culture and the arts between the two countries.
The agreements were signed in Brazzaville on Thursday during inaugural political and diplomatic consultations between Namibia and Congo. The consultations were led by international relations and trade minister Selma Ashipala-Musavyi and her Congolese counterpart, Constant Serge Bounda.
The two countries signed an MoU on cooperation in the field of health and another on cooperation in culture and the arts.
“The ministers also called for stronger and faster bilateral cooperation, with emphasis on turning the long-standing political and diplomatic relations between the two countries into tangible economic benefits for their citizens,” reads a statement released after the event.
The consultations are expected to provide a platform for Namibia and Congo to deepen cooperation beyond political relations and unlock opportunities in sectors of mutual interest.
The two ministers have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral relations and advancing practical cooperation between the two countries.
