Namibia competes at IPSC Africa Handgun Champs

The International Practical Shooting Confederation (IPSC) 2015 Africa Handgun Championships got underway at the Kraaifontein Shooting Club in Cape Town, South Africa over the Independence weekend.

The Namibian Practical Shooting Association (NAPSA) sent 13 members to this prestigious event where shooters from South Africa, Zimbabwe, France, Germany, England, Ireland, Spain, Estonia, Czech Republic, Russia, Slovakia, New Zealand and Australia were competing. The full squad of shooters was as follows:

Chris de Wet – Standard Division (Super Senior)

Helmo Kruger – Production Division

Valdemar Swart – Production Division

Johan Wessels – Production Division

Francois Marais Jnr – Production Division

Jaco Opperman – Production Division

Bjorn Herbert – Production Division

Falk Reisenauer – Production Division (Junior)

Dirk Rohrmann – Production Division (Senior)

Hartwig Dedekind – Open Division (Super Senior)

Gawie van Zyl – Classic Division

The Namibian Production Gun team consists of Helmo Kruger, Valdemar Swart, Johan Wessels and Francois Marais Jnr. The Production team and other individual shooter were competing for the African Championship titles in the respective divisions. Rico Viljoen was also invited to attend as a range officer during the event. The match results for the Namibian shooters are as follows:
