The state-owned petroleum company Namcor’s board has confirmed the demands made by its suspended managing director, Imms Mulunga, to be reinstated.

Company spokesperson Paulo Coelho on Wednesday said the company is finding ways to deal with the issue.

“We want to assure everyone that we are indeed aware of the ongoing situation.

“Our board of directors is actively involved, diligently working and deliberating on this matter, dedicating the necessary attention and resources towards reaching a resolution,” he said.

Mulunga was shown the door temporarily a few months ago after being accused of signing contracts worth more than N$100 million without the board’s approval.

He has denied any wrongdoing.

“Our commitment to openness and transparency remains, and it’s of the utmost importance to us that we keep you abreast of significant developments.

“This is a complex issue involving various parties, and it is only right that it is resolved,” Coelho said.

“As soon as this matter has been resolved, we will endeavor to share what information we can as appropriate.

“While we know many may have questions and concerns, we ask for your understanding and patience in the meantime. We assure you that our organisation is committed to acting in the best interests of all parties involved.”
