Mum accused of drowning 3 children

THE Police at Eenhana in the Ohangwena Region have arrested a 29-year-old woman from Eehongo village in connection with the death of her three children, who were found dead in a well on Wednesday.

The woman will appear in court at Eenhana today on a charge of murder. Deputy Commissioner Armas Shivute told The Namibian that villagers called the Police on Wednesday to report that three children had drowned at their village and their mother had threatened to jump into the well too.Shivute said Police officers rushed to the village and found the woman sitting on the edge of the well.The woman allegedly told the Police she had thrown her children into the well because she was angry with her boyfriend.The Police recovered the bodies of the three children, who have been identified as Emilia Isai (9), Paulus Shoombe (4) and five-month-old Frans Shoongela.Deputy Commissioner Armas Shivute told The Namibian that villagers called the Police on Wednesday to report that three children had drowned at their village and their mother had threatened to jump into the well too.Shivute said Police officers rushed to the village and found the woman sitting on the edge of the well.The woman allegedly told the Police she had thrown her children into the well because she was angry with her boyfriend.
