Elias Mulombwelwa won the Namibian Open that took place at the Windhoek Golf and Country Club over the weekend.
Mulombwelwa had the overall best gross score of 217, to finish three shots clear of Walter Heibeb, while Elkana Mbango had the best nett score of 217, followed by Samuel Nel on 218.
In the A division, Werner Lassen had the best gross score of 223, followed by Kevin Wentzel on 226, while Jackson Kawaya had the best nett score of 220, followed by Jayson Zulch on 223.
In the B division, Jonas Katti had the best gross score of 244, followed by Meriki Shoozi on 247, while Alfie Ndyenge had the best nett score of 220, followed by Mervin Nangolo on 226.
In the C division, Monty Rukoro had the best gross score of 167, followed by Ewald Steenkamp (168), while Elvin Kamana had the best nett score of 142 followed by JP Le Grange (143).
Wilmarie Woest was the overall female winner with a best gross score of 171, followed by Doulaine Holtzhausen on 181, while Suene Venter had the best nett score of 141, followed by Dina Holtzhausen on 144.
In the women’s A division, Ruanda de Beer had the best gross score of 183, while Brenda Lens had the best nett score of 157; and in the B division Hester Walters had the best gross score of 194 and Tiekie de Wet the best nett score of 148.
Jolene van Schoor won the stableford division with a score of 71, followed by Emiloio Maboh (68) and Walter Bredenhann (63), while the nearest to the pin winners were Gerd Liebenberg on the third hole, Elias Mulombwelwa (ninth hole), Keith Gardiner (13th hole) and Werner Lassen (17th hole).
A total of 77 players participated, coming from as far afield as Walvis Bay, Swakopmund, Tsumeb, Grootfontein,Oshakati, Mariental, Omeya and Windhoek.
