SOUTH AFRICAN Premier Soccer league (PSL) outfit Mpumalanga Black Aces have completed the signing of Namibian defender Sydney Plaatjies on a short-term contract.
According to Mpumalanga Black Aces’ official website yesterday, Plaatjies is back in the country for a second spell after spending a few years in South Africa playing for both Mamelodi Sundowns and Jomo Cosmos.’Amazayoni’, as Mpumalanga Black Aces are affectionately known, have announced that the 29-year-old defender is immediately available for selection.’The 29-year-old is an ideal player for Aces, and depending on his fitness level, will be pushing for a starting position in the team.’The left footer can play anywhere, in the defence or midfield. However, his preferred positions are at centre-back or left-back,’ Aces said on their website. – Nampa
