THE body of a teacher who went missing on Sunday was found near Tsintsabis in the Oshikoto region on Thursday morning.
It is believed that Peneyambeko Ndeunyema (45) was killed by Ricardo Shahonya (52), who also allegedly committed suicide. Her next of kin have been informed.
Ohangwena police spokesperson, warrant officer Abner Kaume Itumba, told that Ndeunyema had been missing since Sunday morning.
She was a life skills teacher at Mwadinomho Combined School in the Endola constituency of the Ohangwena region.
Itumba said the police initially focused their search on Ongha and the surrounding villages in the Ohangwena region, but eventually shifted to the Oshikoto region after the last call she made on her cellphone was traced to Cham Cham, a village in the region.
He said cellular phone tracking also revealed that Shahonya, a bus driver who was reportedly involved with Ndeunyema, travelled to Windhoek that same day and returned on Tuesday, using the same road along which the teacher’s body was found.
It is suspected that Shahonya killed Ndeunyema and then dumped her body. He was found hanging from the roof of his house near Ongha in the Ohangwena region on Tuesday.
