WITH season two just recently launched, Miss Grand Namibia pageant 2016 is back and contestants will be vying for numerous titles when the crowning takes place on 9 July.
The winners along with the first and second runner ups will represent Namibia at Miss Grand International 2016, Miss International 2017, Little Miss Universe 2017, Miss Teenager Universe 2017 and at Little Miss World 2017 which all take place internationally.
These finalists will prepare for the Miss Grand Namibia fashion show which will be held on 7 May in Windhoek at the National Theatre of Namibia at 19h30. One lucky finalist stands a chance to walk away with the best runway model award in each category. The finalist who wins best runway model will also win a professional shoot with a photo book, various prizes and will qualify for top five at the finals.
The designers are also going to be battling it out for a Best Emerging Designer Collection award the Best Established Designer Collection award.
Tickets cost N$150 in advance and N$200 at the door.
During June, each finalist will have a community project: ‘We hope to team up with 106GBV, the Women and Child Protection Unit and other outreach programmes in Namibia,’ said project manager and director for the pageant, Magnolia Kuhanga.
Once all finalists submit their community projects, they will once again meet at the coronation gala event to compete for the ultimate crown.
