The Ministry of Industrialisation and Trade is inviting micro-small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in all 14 regions of Namibia to apply for a business simulation workshop.

According to a statement issued by the ministry, the three-day workshop will be conducted in partnership with the German Sparkassenstiftung for International Cooperation through the ministry’s Empretec Namibia.

Empretec is a United Nations programme established by the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development to promote the creation of sustainable, innovative, and internationally competitive small-and medium-sized enterprises.

“The training aims to provide micro business simulations to MSMEs to help entrepreneurs learn and manage their businesses successfully,” the ministry said.

According to the statement, the training will focus mainly on financial management aspects such as business planning, forecasting, record keeping, budgeting and financial statements to enable entrepreneurs to get the know-how of business financial management.

“The training will be in two phases (May and June), starting next month.

“Only 100 applicants will be considered per region, therefore, interested applicants who meet the following requirements should submit their applications (a cover letter of request, detailing: business name, contact details, physical address, nature of business) at the trade ministry’s regional offices on or before the deadline.

Applicants are required to be MSMEs (registered and non-registered) and have basic English and mathematics literacy skills.
