The Namibian Broadcasting Corporation (NBC) has appointed Menesia Muinjo as its new director general.
The appointment was done in consultation with minister of information and communication technology Emma Theofelus.
Muinjo’s appointment is effective from 1 April for a period of five years.
She is currently NBC’s news and programming chief.
Muinjo takes over from outgoing director general Stanley Similo.
“It is anticipated that her appointment will further strengthen the corporation’s ability to deliver on its integrated strategic business plan and its mandate as Namibia’s national public broadcaster,” NBC said on Friday.
