THE DTS Beach Volleyball Arena in Windhoek hosted the DTS Liqui Fruit Mixed Beach Volleyball tournament on Saturday, the final DTS event for the 2025 season.
A total of 31 teams competed across three categories: 16 teams in the under-19 two-a-side division, nine teams in the senior two-a-side division, and six teams in the social four-a-side mixed division.
Thanks to the support of Liqui Fruit, players competed for N$10 000 in prize money, adding extra motivation and prestige to an already highly anticipated event.
Under 19 category: Dominance and rising talent
The under-19 competition featured a highly competitive format with four groups of four teams each, playing round-robin matches to determine the top eight teams advancing to the quarterfinals. The level of play was exceptionally strong, showcasing the depth of Namibia’s next beach volleyball generation.
The outstanding performers of the day were Piroschka Lück and Leo Kesselmann, who dropped only one set throughout the entire tournament. Strong, consistent and tactically sharp, the pair maintained their two-year unbeaten run in the mixed competition, ultimately claiming a championship title.

Senior category: Experience and excellence
In the senior division, the pairing of Carmen Curschmann and Fabian Pfeiffer established themselves as the team to beat. Playing with precision and composure, they navigated the draw without dropping a single set, taking home the top spot.
Special mention goes to veteran player Achim Lück and partner Rosi Hennes, who claimed fourth place. Their spirited play and tactical skills proved that experience still counts in high-level beach volleyball.

Social four-a-side mixed: Fun and community
The social mixed division brought the energy and entertainment to the arena. Teams competed with enthusiasm, showcasing teamwork and creativity while enjoying the festive atmosphere.

Although this event marked the final DTS tournament of the year, the beach volleyball season is far from over. All eyes now turn to the coast for the Swakopmund Beach Open, taking place on 21 and 22 December.
This major event, sponsored by Liqui Fruit and Fabupharm and organised by the Swakopmund Beach Volleyball Academy, Namibia Beach Volleyball Hub and DTS, and sanctioned by the Namibian Volleyball Federation, promises to be the highlight of the Namibian beach volleyball calendar.
