Low Blow, Mr President

Low Blow, Mr President

I WOULD like to refer back to the article that was printed in The Namibian on Wednesday May 26, 2004 which was titled ‘Nujoma attacks whites, neo -colonialists, CoD’. (pg 2).

I know that it is a bit late to respond to this article, but I have not seen anybody else responding yet so I thought, if they don’t do it then I will. Firstly in the article the President of the Republic of Namibia referred to Mr.Ben Ulenga, the president of the Congress of Democrats, as being gay and then he continued to describe the CoD councilors in Oshakati as homosexuals. This was followed by very anti-white racist remarks.Dear Mr. President, I would not like to be disrespectful or anything, but what kind of a president are you?I thought that a president is supposed to be open-minded, respectful to others, a true leader who is able to be humble (even though he is the highest office bearer in the government); give all to his country and show that everybody is equal and has rights and nobody is higher or lower than anybody else including the President (Namibian Constitution). But it seems that every time you insult somebody you always show how inconsiderate, disrespectful and intolerant you are.My point is Sir, that Presidents do not go around insulting competition.Mr. Ben Ulenga has a wife and four children. If you define him as a homosexual, then other men, including yourself, could be defined as such.I am 17 and will be voting for the first time this year and if this is the kind of attitude that Swapo leaders have than I guess that I won’t be voting for Mr Pohamba, the presidential candidate, or Swapo at all.Che WindhoekFirstly in the article the President of the Republic of Namibia referred to Mr.Ben Ulenga, the president of the Congress of Democrats, as being gay and then he continued to describe the CoD councilors in Oshakati as homosexuals. If you define him as a homosexual, then other men, including yourself, could be defined as such.I am 17 and will be voting for the first time this year and if this is the kind of attitude that Swapo leaders have than I guess that I won’t be voting for Mr Pohamba, the presidential candidate, or Swapo at all.Che Windhoek
