Llewellyn Adams goes from streaming to grooming

INNOVATOR and entrepreneur Llewellyn Adams has decided to enter the new year with a bang, starting his own line of beard care products, Bearded by Lu.

The founder of the popular online music streaming website Donlu Africa, told unWrap.online that as a bearded man he takes pride in his facial hair, along with a number of other men.

“I have been using various beard care products, both international and local, and could never find one that I like. It was either they are too greasy or leave too much of a shine and cause breakages. I decided about a year ago to start doing research on the various components of beard care products and how to source these. I started experimenting until the formula worked for me,” Adams says.

After finding the perfect formula, he promptly decided to make it available for other men as well.

After realising that the demand for good quality beard products was high, Adams was then faced with a number of challenges, including starting a business in an industry with very little experience.

“The obvious challenges were getting the right ingredients at the right prices, getting the packaging and entering a market completely unknown to me.

“One thing that’ll definitely make it stand out is that it’s created by a bearded man that understands what men want in terms of the product and will strive to deliver on that.”

Although Adams did not want to give away too much before the actual launch date, Bearded by Lu has already sparked interest online from local bearded personalities and fans alike. – unWrap.online
