Senior Namibian officials joined global dignitaries in Tehran, Iran, on Saturday to honour Iran’s late supreme leader, Grand Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who died on 28 February at the age of 86.

Minister in the Presidency Charles Mubita and National Assembly member Peya Mushelenga attended the public farewell ceremony at the Imam Khomeini Mosalla.

They joined thousands of mourners as Iran officially commenced a week-long schedule of funeral and memorial services.

According to state authorities, the memorial processions will travel from Tehran to the holy cities of Qom, Najaf, Karbala, and Mashhad, where Khamenei’s final burial is scheduled to take place.
