The annual vocal search reality show “The Search” is a TV show that searches for the next sensational star across Namibia, with a cash prize of N$100 000 at stake.
“The initiative was initiated about three years ago by a group of innovative young people and had to go through a transformation, to make sure a quality product is delivered to the audience.
“The 16-episode reality show, in association with NBC, has connected viewers, with all the dramatic social experiments that are fun to watch as it is to participate in,” a statement issued by ‘The Search’ says.
‘The Search’ has set a footprint in the country’s entertainment industry by discovering and grooming budding talent.
“Not only did we crown the winner but we also impacted on a lot of lives and exposed many to the industry. Season 2 will indeed be better and greater. We therefore, urged sponsors and partners to come on board and contribute to the growth of Namibia’s entertainment industry.”
Executive chairperson of National Youth Council of Namibia Sharonice Busch, who handed over the prizes lauded the TV show saying it is showcasing Namibia’s talented artists across Namibia.
“It offers life-changing opportunities for participating members, families and businesses. The TV show brings Namibians closer to screens once a week on prime time between 17h00- 18h00 exclusively on NBC TV and via our social media.
“Identifying and nurturing our inherent abilities and capabilities as young people are at the core of our work as NYC. We therefore applaud ‘The Search’ Namibia for this amazing the initiative” said Busch.
She expressed hope that the winner will use the prize money prudently and use this opportunity to further grow his talent and become a responsible artist in the entertainment industry.
