WHAT’S GOING ON in the Kavango regions with cases of food poisoning killing people and leading to mass hospitalisations?
Even in government schools, hundreds of pupils have been admitted to hospital over the past couple of years – either due to contaminated food or old, unhygienic kitchens.
Five people were reported to have died of suspected food poisoning in January already.
This means more than 30 people have died of food poisoning in the Kavango regions in less than three years.
Drastic action is needed urgently.
The central government must take the lead.
