Oonani Investments Group plans to establish the Oonani Fish Market at Katutura in the capital as part of its expansion into Namibia’s fish industry.

The proposed market will offer fish packing, distribution, wholesale and retail services, aiming to generate sustainable revenue for the group while improving access to affordable fish products for local communities.

The group’s chief executive, Jamie-Lee Nels, announced the plans this week while presenting the group’s 2024/25 financial year report at the 27th annual meeting of the Council of Traditional Leaders at Otjiwarongo.

“The Katutura outlet will serve as a pilot project, enabling the group to enter the fish retail sector through a controlled and cost-effective approach,” she said.
