LAST weekend saw many fashion industry enthusiasts go all out at the Katutura Fashion Week Awards, which were held at Hotel Thuringerhof, with glamour and beauty the obvious main course.
According to Katutura Fashion Week (KFW) public relations officer Jati Indongo, the awards complement the goals and objectives of KFW.
“The awards are a platform exclusively aimed at recognising and awarding the unrecognised or renowned but not awarded men and women who work so hard in the fashion industry,” Indongo said.
The awards, which had 88 nominees, saw only 22 winners, including Chelsi Shikongo who won the best social media influencer of the year award and the College of the Arts which won the best fashion design educational institution of the year award.
“The turnout to the event was impressive, with nominees and guests who showed up in glamorous styles on the red carpet. This was the third time the awards were held since 2019. The KFW organisers hope to get more sponsors on board to help with financial support. Currently, we have sponsors who help us in kind and we appreciate all they do for us,” she ended.
