Miss World Namibia 2025 Selma Kamanya last week held a joint meeting with the interim executive director of the Ministry of Information and Communication Technology Linda Aipinge on possible collaborations on the Global Namibia 1 initiative planned for November.

Kamanya, who is eager to market Namibia on the international platform, says this is a chance for Namibia to produce and offer more home-made content.

Global Namibia 1 is a national initiative led by Kamanya with the aim of positioning Namibia on the international map as a destination for tourism, commerce, and investment through strategic storytelling, global partnerships, and international high-profile exposure.

“The initiative neatly takes the Ministry of Information and Communicaton Technology’s vision of nation branding, digitisation, projecting the identity of Namibia, and projecting inspirational stories to bring about the socio-economic development of the nation,” Kamanya said.

The event, set to take place between 22 November to 4 December, will include a summit and a national tour to attract a delegation of 30 international visitors, consisting of Miss World Organisation officials, global media practitioners, and continental beauty ambassadors.

The organiser says the delegation has a combined social media following of over one million global followers, offering a unique opportunity to showcase Namibia’s potential to the world through creative communication channels and people-driven stories.

The conference features inter-regional travel across all of Namibia’s key tourism spots – Etosha and traditional communities in the north, Sossusvlei and the desert in the south, and the Coastal Belt (Swakopmund and Walvis Bay).
