Rapper and songwriter Jericho Gawanab said he and his family are well.
This comes after a recent video circulating on social media indicated that the artist had died in a car accident.
“I am not dead, at least not yet. Someone circulated a video saying that I have died. I don’t know who the person is but the information is not true. It is false information that was spread. Seeing this really hurts me and people don’t understand the negative affect such things are having on me, my music career, family and kids.
“Hearing such things is scary to me, especially since I am soon going to be on the road. For now, I don’t want anything negative around me,” he said.
Gawanab admitted that the information was hurtful to him, his relatives, friends and fans.
“My phone has been ringing non-stop, until now. People are crying. They are glad to hear my voice again. To spread such untrue information is not nice at all,” he said.
Gawanab stressed that misleading information about him was created perhaps with the intent to destroy his musical comeback.
“People don’t want to see me happy and making it. I think some people don’t like it that I am doing good again. I am back in studio and things are looking positive for me again. I have also been off drugs and alcohol for about six months now. My family is going good and there are no arguments. My sister is managing me,” he said.
Gawanab said he is currently busy in studio working hard on new music and plans to release a new album later this year.
He also has a new video out, titled ‘All Alone’ featuring Noble Lashes.
“My upcoming album is about 90% complete. With the album, I aim to focus on being addicted to something. I am excited about this one and so are many others,” he said.
