Hong Kong Sevens squad selected

THE Namibian Sevens Rugby selectors have named a 28-man squad to prepare for the Hong Kong Sevens tournament which takes place in April this year.

The squad was announced after trials in Windhoek last week and includes a number of young up and coming players.

Namibia’s assistant coach Robbie Dickson said the group will intensify its training over the next two weeks before a final squad of 12 players is selected.

“We can only take 12 players to Hong Kong so we will make the final announcement in about two to three weeks’ time. Part of the squad are now based in Swakopmund where they are training with our head coach Jurie Booysen, while a part is training here in Windhoek. We will also intensify our coaching from this week, with daily sessions at the High Performance centre as well as on the field of play,” he said.
