Heidi and Seal: ‘The End’

Supermodel and ‘Project Runway’ TV host Heidi Klum and British singer Seal have confirmed ‘split rumours’, stating they are separating after seven years of marriage.

The pair termed their parting ‘amicable’ in a statement on Sunday night. The German-born Klum and Seal, who married in 2005, have four children ranging in age from 2 to 7. They said protecting the well-being of their children was their top priority. Over the weekend, TMZ had claimed that the German supermodel was ‘preparing to file for divorce’ from Seal, citing ‘irreconcilable differences’ as her reason for wanting to end their marriage.’While we have enjoyed seven very loving, loyal and happy years of marriage, after much soul-searching we have decided to separate,’ the couple told People magazine.’We have had the deepest respect for one another throughout our relationship and continue to love each other very much, but we have grown apart. This is an amicable process and protecting the well-being of our children remains our top priority, especially during this time of transition.’We thank our family, friends, and fans for their kind words of support. And for our children’s sake, we appreciate you respecting our privacy.’It is thought that hectic work schedules are to blame for their split, with a source telling The Sun: ‘The marriage ended months ago in reality. They rarely saw each other and it wouldn’t be unusual for them to go months without spending any real quality time together. Ships that pass in the night would be an overstatement.’The two released a steamy music video in September 2010 for the Grammy-winning singer’s single ‘Secrets’, which featured the naked couple in bed together. In an interview with Reuters at the time, Seal said that he had titled his sixth album ‘Commitment’ because it was a recurring theme for him, particularly since meeting Klum. The couple, who at one time renewed their marriage vows every year, in 2010 were also preparing to shoot a pilot programme for cable television that gave couples the chance to have the wedding of their dreams.
