Heavy rains coupled with strong winds destroyed the Simwege Junior Primary School in the Kavango West region over the weekend.
This has been confirmed by regional education director Pontianus Musore.
He says the demolished structures comprised prefabricated classrooms which had been donated by the community.
“In the meantime, we are giving them two tents as a temporary solution while we lobby for funds for the construction of two classrooms,” he says.
The Ministry of Education, Arts and Culture has in the meantime said the school would have to provide a full report, update on its regional plan, and a bill of quantities if it requires financial assistance.
