Hangula lashes out at student teachers

THE vice chancellor of the University of Namibia (Unam), Professor Lazarus Hangula, yesterday accused student teachers at the Khomasdal Campus of creating bad publicity for that campus.

‘I would like to express my disappointment at those very few students of this campus who have been trying, now and then, to use any means to cause disruption and/or bad publicity for this otherwise very peaceful and law-abiding campus,’ said Hangula during the inauguration of refurbished classrooms and halls at the campus. He called on students to follow the right procedures when they have grievances.Hangula warned students that in terms of the university’s laws, students engaging in unlawful activities can be detained, brought before disciplinary hearings, suspended and even expelled. He said Unam students at campuses throughout the country are generally disciplined, and if they have grievances, they follow procedure. – Nampa
