On 26 November, Session 2 of Gondwana Collection Namibia’s ‘Train the Trainer’ programme was successfully concluded.
Some 12 Gondwana trainers completed the session, contributing valuable insights and experience that shaped the development of the Gondwana training principles – now forming the foundation of the Gondwana training approach.
This approach ensures sustainable, impactful learning while fostering a safe environment for all participants.
As Gondwana Collection Namibia continues to grow, the company recognises that organisational expansion must go hand in hand with skills development.
The ‘Train the Trainer’ initiative was launched to strengthen internal leadership capacity by equipping senior leaders with the pedagogical tools, self-awareness, and methodologies required to transfer knowledge effectively and sustainably.
The programme was facilitated by Ume Goldbeck, Gondwana Academy manager and experienced leadership coach, alongside transformation and psychological safety specialist Stefan Klaussner.
Together, they guided participants through a structured learning journey that combined deep self-reflection, neuroscience-based insights on how adults learn, and practical teaching methodologies.
This second session builds on the first module held in August, where the same group of 12 participants – representing management, supervisory, and operational levels across the company – began their journey to becoming effective internal trainers.
Ultimately, Gondwana aims to cultivate a distinct training approach rooted in its values, responsive to its diverse workforce, and aligned with its purpose of sustainable tourism.
By investing in leaders as trainers, the company strengthens its internal talent pipeline and ensures that skills are shared across the organisation in a meaningful, lasting way.
“Leadership is not just about guiding teams,” Goldbeck says.
“It’s about leaving behind a legacy of knowledge that others can build on. That is what ‘Train the Trainer’ is all about.”
