Gazza, The Dogg to share stage

Gazza, The Dogg to share stage

LIVE shows don’t come bigger than this one. Last year Gazza told The Namibian that he always aims to make his next show better than the previous one.

We don’t dispute that statement, because the GMP superstar went on to prove that in each of his performances. When Gazza launched his bomber album ‘467 GMP Till I Die’ last year, those present at the jam-packed Unam sports grounds in Windhoek were mesmerised by a five-star performance from Gazza. The show was dynamic, from the supporting acts, which included the likes of multi-award-winning Gal Level to the now defunct kwaito trio Matongo Family, the fireworks display, right to Gazza’s electrifying stage act.Now the Oshakati-born rapper has upped the ante once again by roping in seasoned South African kwaito icon Zola and new kid on the block Ghetto Son.Gazza will launch his new CD at the Oshakati Independence Stadium tomorrow, starting at 17h00.There will also be other local artists like the lyrically rich Qonja, upcoming Afropop group Verdicts and many more.Zola needs no introduction to Namibian fans.Born Bonginkosi Dlamini, he reached superstar status as an actor, TV host and singer in his country of birth. His music is well known and adored in Namibia, with many local artists considering him as their idol. They will now get the chance to rub shoulders with him at the Oshakati Independence Stadium. And if bringing two seasoned musicians from across the Orange River was not enough, the rapper, also known as Karandu in his home village, pulled off a coup of coups of sorts by securing the support of his music rival, The Dogg. Not many could have imagined seeing the former stable mates together on one stage, especially after recent fallouts between their fans, but it seems miracles do happen in Namibia. The fact that Gazza and The Dogg are going to share the same stage is just what the doctor ordered for success. The entry fee is N$40 in advance and N$50 at the gate.Tickets are available from Bennie’s Entertainment Park, Afrika Stadt Haus Hotel, Picasso Pizza in Ongwediva, Streethouse, Virus and Remind Trading Enterprise in Oshakati.
