Former executive director of urban and rural development Petrus Sindimba has been transferred to the Cabinet secretariat in the Office of the Prime Minister.
Sindimba will serve in the capacity of executive director, but without accounting powers. The Office of the Prime Minister made the announcement on Wednesday.
“The prime minister on the recommendation of the Public Service Commission approved the transfer of Mr Petrus Sindimba,” a press release reads.
Sindimba has a decade of experience in public service, having served as a community liaison officer at the then Ministry of Regional, Local Government and Housing, and as an economist at the Ministry of Trade and Industry in 2000.
He was appointed Nkurenkuru Town Council chief executive in 2007 before being appointed executive director of urban and rural development in 2025.
Sindimba holds a master’s degree of business administration and a diploma in public administration.
“We take this opportunity to congratulate Sindimba on his new appointment,” the statement says.
