Over 4 000 participants, including descendants of legendary figures, ministers, cosmonauts and peace ambassadors are set to gather from 20 to 21 September in Moscow, Russia, for the First World Public Assembly.
The gathering will be hosted by the World Peoples’ Assembly — a large-scale international humanitarian forum timed to coincide with the International Day of Peace.
This event will serve as a unique venue for elaboration of well-defined solutions to shape a sustainable, just and harmonious future in an era of global change.
The forum will bring together public diplomacy, representatives of civil society, experts and government officials from more than 150 countries.
The central theme of the Assembly is ‘New World of Conscious Unity’.
World Peoples’ Assembly secretary general Andrey Belyaninov says they believe the New World begins where unity is affirmed, where values are above differences and cooperation is stronger than rivalry.
“The New World is a matter of shared efforts. And it is being created here and now — together with you,” Belyaninov says.
The General Council of the assembly co-chair and Unesco goodwill ambassador, Aleksandra Ochirova, says conscious unity cannot be achieved through governmental decrees.
“Our key task is the conceptual support of humanitarian modernisation and the achievement of multipolar unity through concrete proposals from the participants themselves coming from around the world,” Ochirova notes.
