A five-month-old baby died from a head injury over the weekend.
The child was injured after allegedly being struck with a stone by his father (33) three months ago.
According to reports, the father allegedly meant to hit the baby’s mother with the stone during a domestic altercation at Nkandi village in the Kavango West region.
The child was then transported to Nankudu District Hospital and later to Windhoek State Hospital for the treatment of a skull fracture.
The father has been in police custody since the incident. The charges against him have now been changed from attempted murder to murder.
Police investigations continue.
In another incident, Keetmanshoop resident Ricardo Goliath (52) died after his cousin allegedly stabbed him with a knife in the neck over the weekend.
According to reports, the suspect’s girlfriend (38) broke the knife and then threw it on top of a shack in an attempt to conceal the murder weapon.
The knife was, however, retrieved with the assistance of a witness.
The suspect and accomplice have been arrested.
Goliath’s next of kin have been informed. Police investigations continue.
In a separate incident, Felix Shilongo (18) died at Karibib over the weekend after he was stabbed in the chest.
According to reports, a man was arrested after he handed himself over at the Karibib police station.

Meanwhile, a man (58) took his own life in Windhoek’s Havana over the weekend.
Martin Waendama Shipo’s body was discovered in his bedroom.
According to reports, Shipo’s girlfriend alerted the police when she could not contact him after finding the house door locked from the inside.
