Local model and former Miss Namibia contestant Ndinelago Emosho is set to make her international pageant debut.
She will represent Namibia at this year’s Miss Tourism Africa International pageant in Lagos, Nigeria.
Recognising her potential to represent Namibia on the international stage, Walk by Bobby Kaanjosa, the Miss Tourism Africa franchise holders in Namibia, selected Emosho to participate in the pageant after she made it to the top 20 of Miss Namibia 2024.
“Although I did not make it to the top 10, I am grateful for the redirection to this incredible opportunity. Being chosen by Bobby Kaanjosa and his team to proudly bear the name of my country in Nigeria is a humbling experience that I deeply appreciate,” Emosho says.
She says participating in the third instalment of Miss Tourism Africa International is not just about a title, but also a chance to showcase the beauty and unity of Namibia to the world.
“It is a responsibility I take with pride and determination,” she says.
The grand finale of the pageant is scheduled to take place on 1 October in Lagos, with contestants departing on 20 September.
Miss Tourism Africa International is the continent’s flagship tourism competition platform, created to promote the continent’s many wonders and attractions.
According to an invitation letter, the pageant is an extension of the vision of community empowerment and a leadership platform for ambitious African women in the modelling industry.
Through a pageant system, contestants receive world-renowned coaching, advanced networking and business and life skills, as 20 diverse young women are shaped into celebrated tourism ambassadors for their countries.
Emosho says if she is fortunate enough to win a title during the pageant, she plans to use the platform to inspire others to pursue their dreams and promote the rich cultural heritage and natural beauty of Namibia to boost tourism.
“Additionally, I will continue advocating quality education through my education project, known as EduPower Namibia, to ensure a brighter future for all children,” says Emosho.
She adds that for the past few years, her journey as a model saw her achieve various titles in high school, as well as the prestigious title of being a semi-finalist for Miss Namibia this year, a testament to her dedication and passion for the industry.
Looking ahead, the model, who is a teacher by profession, says she envisions furthering her education with a master’s degree as well as advancing in her career, while continuing to make a positive impact on the lives of children through the EduPower Namibia project.
