TWO of Namibia's most celebrated musicians Top Cheri and Ees recently announced that they will be performing at Club Gretchen in Berlin, Germany on 15 September 2022.
Ees told unwrap.online the show will mainly be in support of the ongoing anti-rhino poaching awareness campaign he and his partners have been engaged in for the past few years.
"I've been working with the rhino trust and various other rhino support organisations for quite some time now and they wanted me to help push more awareness on the poaching of the rhino in Namibia.
“I said it would be great if we also have another Namibian artist there for the show to help push other Namibian artists to go out, because I have the opportunity this side to do shows and to open doors," he said.
He added that doing the show with Top Cheri should not surprise anyone because he has been doing features with other Namibian musicians for over 16 years and he has always wanted to take more Namibian talent to Germany and the international music scene as a whole.
"I just recently released a new song with Top Cheri and then organised that we perform together in Berlin. Making these shows is very difficult because you need to do a million things before someone can get into Germany. There are visas, hundreds of documents, invites and regulations, but Top Cheri's management team handled it quite well and made it possible," he said.
Ees also said in addition to the show, he also included a press tour which will see them going to various media outlets to promote Namibian music.
"We are a very happy to be having Top Cheri perform this side and it's all about team work, nobody can do it alone. We have to work together and it makes me very happy to give more artists the opportunity to do. It is time to get the ball rolling again after the whole Covid-19 situation," he ended. -unWrap.online
